Matern Professional Engineering is pleased to announce that it is expanding its team with three new hires, as well as relocating the company’s Fort Myers office to a new location in town. The office focuses on mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineering for all market sectors in the Southwest Florida region.

Seven employees will be moving to the new office located at 12437 Brantley Commons. The office will be officially open by December 1, with Matern Professional Engineering Senior Vice President and Director of Southwest Florida Division Todd Griffith continuing to run the new location.

“I’m pleased to start the next chapter of our company’s storied history. As our team grows, we continue to build meaningful partnerships with clients and provide modern solutions to their needs,” said Griffith. “We will continue to serve our clients in the Fort Myers area with the same level of excellence they have come to depend upon from Matern Professional Engineering.”

The new hires at the company include mechanical engineer Joshua M. Lara, who specializes in HVAC renewal and project management. He harnesses his technical and practical skills to find solutions to complex projects.

“It is a privilege to join the Fort Myers office and work for Matern Professional Engineering,” said Lara, who holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Catholic University. “I enjoy collaborating with my team and brain-storming innovative solutions for our projects. As a detail-oriented individual, I prioritize the client’s needs and ensure all their requests are addressed.”

Electrical engineer Abigail (Abby) Bryant comes to the firm with a degree from the University of Florida. She has laboratory experience and engages in various mentorship opportunities available to her. Bryant recently passed her engineering intern exam and thus joined the company as a new engineer in training. Driven and collaborative, she enjoys working closely with her team and creating strategic plans to approach projects efficiently.

“I’m grateful to join a company that prioritizes advancing with the industry and embracing new technologies. The team at Matern Professional Engineering is dynamic and hard-working, it is wonderful working in a supportive environment,” said Bryant. “I look forward to continuing to develop relationships with clients and help them reach their goals”

Matern Professional Engineering’s third recent hire is Gabrielle (Gabby) Pelletier, who is an electrical engineer. She is dedicated to creating organized workflows and is skilled with time-management; she is able to adapt to the needs of each project and is a strong communicator. Pelletier graduated from the Florida Institute of Technology and has previously utilized her skills in robotics and programming.

“I’m excited to work at the Fort Myers office. Our team is client-focused and we work diligently to support our clients and make sure all projects are on track,” said Pelletier. “I look forward to continuing to work on an array of projects and creating long-lasting and high-quality end results.”

The new Fort Myers office will be handling work for the Collier County Government, Collier County Schools, Lee County School District, and Florida Gulf Coast University. Other clients include the City of Fort Myers, and Charlotte County, Monroe County and Lee County Governments to name a few.

Ryan Strandquest, LEED AP, President of Matern Professional Engineering, said that this new office is poised for additional expansion in the years to come.

“Our company is dedicated to supporting our community and helping our clients reach their goals,” said Strandquest. “As our team expands, we continue to deliver modern and unique solutions in the MEP industry.”
