The Beck Group Receives NEWH’s Inaugural SOHE Award

Award-Winning Populus Hotel Sets a New Standard for Eco-Conscious Design
Shawano, WI — NEWH, Inc. (Network of Executive Women in Hospitality), the premier association committed to scholarships, advancing education, mentorship, and networking in the hospitality industry, announced The Beck Group as the winner of the inaugural Structures of Hospitality Excellence (SOHE) Award during ALIS DESIGN+ in Los Angeles on January 31, 2025.
The Beck Group included The Populus Hotel in Denver as one of their recent projects in their SOHE nomination. The Populus Hotel reflects The Beck Group’s abilities and collaboration with ownership to deliver this project, which redefines sustainable hospitality as the first carbon-positive hotel in the United States, setting a new standard for eco-conscious operations and pushing the boundaries of architectural innovation. The 265-room urban hotel unites luxury, sustainability, and innovative architectural vision to the Mile-High City.
The SOHE Award recognizes excellence in hospitality construction and dedication to NEWH’s mission highlighting innovative methods, processes, and exemplary team management that drive exceptional renovations and new construction projects worldwide. The Populus Hotel embodies The Beck Group’s forward-thinking approach, blending innovative construction with nature-inspired aesthetics. The eye-catching façade, modeled after the aspen tree, integrates sustainable materials and advanced eco-conscious practices.
