Virginia Beach Selects Woolpert for Annual Contract for Stormwater Engineering Services
The four-year contract supports a wide range of stormwater, flooding, and water quality needs.
VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (Feb. 6, 2024) — The Virginia Beach Public Works Operations Group has selected Woolpert for its annual stormwater engineering services contract. Woolpert is providing consulting, engineering, surveying, architecture, GIS, and related services for the city’s wide range of stormwater infrastructure needs and initiatives. The contract must not exceed $10 million and is renewable annually for a total term of four years.
Project Manager Danny Maas said Woolpert’s experience providing full-service stormwater support specific to coastal regions, from floodplain analysis to pump station design to impervious surface mapping to emergency response, aligns well with the needs of this growing city.
“Virginia Beach is a very forward-thinking client with a highly efficient operational structure. Flooding is the city’s top priority, and they have developed a flood protection program that supports the everyday needs of their stormwater operations group and neighborhood rehabilitation,” Maas said. “I was born and raised here, so working for the city is like working for myself to some degree. In 2022, the firm redesigned its Virginia Beach office at 4433 Corporation Lane, Suite 125, to accommodate staff in the office full time, those working hybrid schedules, and those working remotely so the firm could better serve the architecture, engineering, and geospatial needs of the region.
