Washington, DC — U.S. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg addressed the annual Spring Convention of the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) in Washington this morning.

Secretary Buttigieg addressed Sunday’s highway collapse along I-95 in Philadelphia during his address. The balance of his remarks focused on the historic infrastructure investments being made because of the passage of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, the CHIPS Act, and the Inflation Reduction Act.

The audience for the event includes hundreds of engineering executives leading the implementation of these new laws as the designers of America’s infrastructure.

Last week, the independent ACEC Research Institute released new data showing engineering firm executives are highly optimistic about the industry’s future and the American economy.
