Joy Melita, a WSP USA regional civil engineering manager and senior project manager, will lead the firm’s transportation and infrastructure business in Arizona.

TEMPE, ARIZONA — Joy Melita has been promoted to Arizona transportation and infrastructure area manager for WSP USA, a leading engineering and professional services consultancy.

Melita, who had been serving as a regional civil engineering manager and senior project manager for the firm’s Texas/Mountain region, will be responsible for managing operations, overseeing project delivery, and growing and diversifying business in Arizona.

“Joy has spent her entire career in Arizona; she knows first-hand the pressure our clients are under to meet the needs of the region’s growing population, and the transportation and infrastructure challenges that come with it,” said Arpit Talati, regional manager for WSP’s Texas/Mountain region. “With more than 130 people in our Arizona business (Tempe and Tucson offices), Joy has a tremendous local team to support our clients and their project needs.”

Since joining WSP over 22 years ago, Melita has been overseeing project delivery of transportation and infrastructure projects, developing local business relationships, leading strategic pursuits, and serving as principal-in-charge and project manager for several WSP projects in the state. Prior to joining WSP, she was a project engineer and project manager for the Arizona Department of Transportation.

Melita is a graduate of Arizona State University with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering. A licensed Arizona professional engineer, she is a member of the American Council of Engineering Companies, American Society of Civil Engineers, and the Women’s Transportation Seminar.
