BELLEVUE, Wash. – Darold Woodward, PE, has joined HNTB Corporation as electrical department manager. Based in the firm’s Bellevue office, Woodward’s primary duties include coordinating project priorities and staffing assignments to ensure clients receive the best design capabilities. He is responsible for technical coaching and mentoring, as well as meeting clients’ electrical consulting needs on the region’s most complex infrastructure projects.

Woodward, a licensed professional engineer in the state of Washington, has more than 25 years of electrical engineering experience, including work in control and electrical system design for transportation, water, wastewater and energy facilities. He brings significant skills in managing complex projects, leading electrical technical teams, and directing detailed design and analysis of electrical and control systems.

Prior to joining HNTB, Woodward was a senior electrical engineer for another consulting firm. In that role, he was responsible for all phases of project design, analysis and construction support.

Woodward holds a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from Washington State University. He has extensive experience with the National Electric Code as well as Washington (WAC 296-46B, WCEC) and local electrical codes.

He has participated in numerous industry professional organizations, including presenting papers at the regional Water Environment Federation organization; Pacific Northwest Clean Water Association; Water Environment Training Center; Western Protective Relay Conference; and Western Power Delivery Automation Conference.

HNTB established its Seattle office in 1960, but the firm traces its roots in the region back to 1912, when the Columbia River Interstate Bridge between Portland, Ore., and Vancouver, Wash., opened. The bridge was designed by John Lyle Harrington, a partner in HNTB’s predecessor firm, Waddell & Harrington.
