Continued investment in key US states better serve clients and expand technical capabilities

Columbia, SC, February 14, 2024: GHD continues to expand its presence in the southeast US with the opening of a new office in Columbia, SC. The state’s growing population, one of the fastest growing states in the US, calls for expanded and more resilient infrastructure service providers. GHD has hired 14 experienced local professionals who have been serving the municipal water market for decades and continues to build its employee base. The new office space opened on January 15th in downtown Columbia near the State House.

An estimated 30 additional local engineering professionals will be hired throughout 2024 to support regional infrastructure needs in the water market.

According to Steven Davie, GHD regional manager, US Southeast, “As the state capital, Columbia is well suited to serve both the local community and the surrounding metropolitan area which is experiencing rapid growth due to direct investments in the local economy. The area’s critical infrastructure needs are perfectly aligned with GHD’s core technical capabilities, and our team is attuned to the specific needs of the broader community we serve.”

The new office comes on the heels of the September 18, 2023 announcement of GHD’s new Engineering Design Office in Orlando that services the water, energy and resources, environment, property and buildings, and transportation markets.

The Orlando office is experiencing steady growth and is on its way to grow to its projected 100 professionals by June 2024. Plans call for hiring an additional 100 engineers in 2025.

Engineers and designers are encouraged to apply in the disciplines of civil; process mechanical; building mechanical; structural; electrical instrumental; and control and BIM management/coordination. Experience with federal projects and the water municipal market is beneficial.  Information on GHD careers can be found here.
