In 1996, Woolpert provided engineering and surveying for the first phase of the south-central Indiana development, located within Timbergate Golf Course.

EDINBURGH, Ind. — Woolpert has been contracted by Gradison Land Development to provide engineering and surveying services for two phases of the Timbergate development in Edinburgh, Ind., just north of Columbus. These two phases comprise 41 acres of the subdivision, located within Timbergate Golf Course.

Woolpert will provide American Land Title Association (ALTA) surveys and pre-development topographic surveys. The topographic surveys will support all infrastructure, including utility information and sanitary and storm sewer manholes. Woolpert will prepare final site and civil construction documents for the 44 single-family lots included in the development’s fourth and fifth phases and will coordinate and support the permitting process.

The first phase of the Timbergate development broke ground in 1996. The original developer hired Woolpert to provide engineering and surveying to support 246 homes over the 300-acre development. Woolpert Engineering Technician Phyllis Daulton worked on that initial phase and is currently supporting this new contract.

“I helped to develop CAD files for the project 20 years ago and am developing CAD files for the development today, although the technology has advanced quite a bit in the interim,” Daulton said. “This development is a great asset to the area, and this expansion by Gradison will be beautiful. We’re excited to work at Timbergate again and to continue to expand our subdivision work and our presence in Indiana.”

Gradison Founder Mark Gradison said Woolpert was selected due to the firm’s successful history with the site and its extensive engineering and surveying experience.

“Woolpert has the benefit being in business for more than 100 years, supporting a wide range of engineering, surveying, architecture and utilities projects at urban and suburban sites across the country,” Gradison said. “It’s pretty cool that the Woolpert team was there at Timbergate’s beginning and can lend additional continuity, scope and expertise to these most recent phases.”

This project is scheduled to break ground later this summer.
