Call for Abstracts Open for Two DFI Middle East Events

Hawthorne, N.J.:  DFI is accepting presentation abstracts for two upcoming events being hosted by DFI Middle East: a one-day workshop on November 10, 2020, during GeoMEast in Cairo, and the fifth annual DFI Middle East Conference being held February 16-18, 2021, in Dubai. Abstracts for both events are due July 20, 2020.

 

One-Day Workshop at GeoMEast 2020

DFI Middle East is organizing a one-day workshop during the GeoMEast 2020 Conference in Cairo, Egypt. The workshop is being held on Tuesday, November 10, 2020, and includes 10 presentations on case histories, innovative designs and practices in deep foundations. 

 

Abstracts are being accepted on the following topics:

• Deep Ground Improvement
• Testing and Ground Characterisation
• Deep Foundations / Shoring / Dewatering
• Special Applications: Helical Piles, Micropiles, Soil Nails
• Instrumentation & Monitoring / Data Acquisition and Management
• New Technologies and Digitisation

DFI Middle East Conference

The fifth annual DFI Middle East Conference is being held February 16-18, 2021, at the American University in Dubai (AUD). The conference provides an opportunity for the region’s geotechnical engineering practitioners, academics, and suppliers to exchange information and present the latest developments in the field of foundation design and construction.

 

Abstracts are being accepted on the following topics:

• Ground Characterization
• Ground Improvement
• Deep Foundation Topics: Design and Methods and Construction and Case Histories
• Geotechnical Software and Information Systems
• Tunneling and the Use of Underground Space

 

If accepted to present, a written paper is not required, but welcome.
