Chris Masters and Chad Humphrey join HNTB Corporation’s North Texas office

Engineering professionals will bolster HNTB’s North Texas practice as it delivers complex projects and programs across the region

 
DALLAS – Chris Masters, PE, and Chad Humphrey, PE, joined HNTB Corporation as associate vice presidents, based in the firm’s Dallas office. Masters is transit and rail project director. Humphrey is North Texas operations manager and construction services project director.

“Chris and Chad bring unique perspectives to HNTB that will help ensure our clients benefit from our technical excellence and innovative solutions as they deliver complex infrastructure projects to improve mobility in the region,” said Steve Knobbe, PE, HNTB North Texas office leader and vice president.  

Chris Masters, PE

Masters has 23 years of experience in program management, design, construction and planning. Prior to joining HNTB, he served as vice president-transportation for another consulting firm. He was responsible for growth of rail, bridge, construction management and transit. He has significant North Texas project experience, serving on projects for Dallas Area Rapid Transit and Denton County Transportation Authority, among others. 

Masters earned a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from the United States Military Academy – West Point. He was named as a “Top 20 Under 40” professional by Engineering News-Record magazine in 2014. 

Humphrey’s career spans 20 years. He moves to his new role from HNTB’s Chicago office, where he served as department manager, project manager and resident engineer. There he led a staff of field engineers providing HNTB clients with construction engineering and inspection services. 

Chad Humphrey, PE

In his role as North Texas operations manager, Humphrey provides leadership for HNTB’s North Texas office operations, ensuring the firm successfully delivers a variety of complex mobility projects to transportation agencies throughout the region. 

Humphrey earned a Master of Business Administration from the Keller Graduate School of Management and a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from the University of Illinois. He is active with the National Society of Professional Engineers and Construction Management Association of America. 

In North Texas, HNTB is involved with some of the most complex and transformative infrastructure projects in the region, including providing design and construction management on the DART SOC-3 Blue Line Extension; leading technical efforts for the Dallas Horseshoe Project; and serving as lead design architect in collaboration with HKS and Corgan for Dallas Fort Worth International Airport Terminal D, and many other major mobility projects.
