Cardno’s Jim Anspach, PG, Named Distinguished Member of the American Society of Civil Engineers

Clearwater, FL – Cardno, Inc., is pleased to announce that Jim Anspach, PG, Dist.M.ASCE, Director of Utility Market & Practice Development, was named a Distinguished Member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) at its annual convention held in Denver, CO.  

The Distinguished Member recognition is the organization’s highest honor, reserved for ASCE Members or Fellows who have attained eminence in some branch of engineering or related arts and sciences. In ASCE’s 166-year history, only 697 engineers have achieved the honor. 229 Distinguished Members are part of the organization’s current membership.

Considered a global leader within the field of Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE), Jim is a Global Senior Principal at Cardno with more than 40 years of experience working as an educator, consultant, researcher, and expert witness. He serves as ASCE’s spokesman on utility engineering issues, and has been considered a leader in the utility damage prevention industry for 35 years. Jim also helped develop the Utility Engineering & Surveying Institute to help further the practice of utility risk management within civil engineering.

The ASCE developed a tribute video to Jim Anspach, which can be viewed on its website. The video celebrates Jim’s accomplishments over his career and his contributions to several practices within civil engineering.
