FK Architecture Announces Applications Open for Robert and Joanne Koch Scholarship for Architecture
Maitland, FL: March  17, 2026, FK Architecture, a Fugleberg Koch Company, is proud to announce the Robert and Joanne Koch Scholarship for Architecture, a $1,500 merit-based award designed to support exceptional graduating high school seniors pursuing bachelor's degrees in architecture at accredited colleges within Central Florida. Applications are due April 26, 2026.  
 
Established in honor of Robert Koch, co-founder of Fugleberg Koch, and his late wife Joanne, this scholarship recognizes their more than 50 years of commitment to industry leadership, professional education, and knowledge-sharing. Throughout their careers, Robert and Joanne have contributed significantly to the architecture and design industries through their participation in professional associations, civic organizations, and educational forums.  
 
"This scholarship demonstrates our ongoing commitment to advancing the profession and mentoring the next generation of architects, embodying the values that drive our firm," said Ken Linehan, AIA, FK Architecture Managing Principal. "FK Architecture is proud to promote the power of education and professional excellence." 
 
The Robert and Joanne Koch Scholarship for Architecture will award one $1,500 scholarship to a qualifying student. The award is merit-based and may be applied to tuition, board, and other mandatory educational fees. Payments will be made directly to the recipient's educational institution. 
 
Applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements: 
  • Be a graduating high school senior from Orange, Osceola, or Seminole County, Florida 
  • Have been accepted into an accredited architectural program at a school of architecture within Central Florida (including 2+2+2 programs through Valencia College, UCF, and UF, or direct acceptance to the University of Florida's School of Architecture) 
  • Maintain an unweighted GPA of 3.5 or higher 
  • Demonstrate merit through academic and personal achievement 
 
To apply, candidates must submit the following materials: 
  • Completed application form 
  • Copy of standardized test scores (College Board or ACT) 
  • A short essay (1,000 words or less) describing how they intend to make a difference in the world with a degree in architecture 
  • Two letters of recommendation 
 
All applications and supporting documentation must be postmarked by April 24, 2026, and mailed to
