New features and tools reinforce platform as go-to resource for HSS connection design
CHICAGO — Atlas Tube, a Zekelman company, will highlight the continued growth and adoption of its HSS Connections Hub™ at NASCC: The Steel Conference (Atlanta, April 22-24, 2026), showcasing new features and tools at booth 1231 that further establish the platform as a leading resource for HSS connection design.
Since its launch at NASCC 2025, the HSS Connections Hub has quickly gained traction across the industry with more than 3,000 users adopting the platform in its first year. The Hub provides engineers, fabricators and detailers with fabrication-friendly HSS typical connection details, calculators and resources that simplify workflows and reduce project complexity.
New Features to Streamline Design and Improve Efficiency
At NASCC 2026, Atlas Tube is introducing several new calculator features and new enhancements to the HSS Connections Hub designed to improve workflow efficiency and expand design capabilities, including:
Bulk Import functionality enabling end-to-end upload of multiple connections using Excel for significant time savings
Seismic design support, including automation Seismic Design Category (SDC) determination, R=3 system checks, and OMF checks per AISC 341
Continued expansion of HSS connection types in high-value application categories
3D visualization models for all WF-to-HSS moment connection calculators, with additional models coming soon
Truss auto-determination (beta release)
In May, Atlas Tube will launch a new online tool that helps identify HSS alternatives to wide flange sections for use in beam applications, complementing its existing WF-to-HSS gravity column conversion calculator.
“These enhancements are all about saving time and making it easier to design with HSS,” said Brad Fletcher, Senior Sales Engineer, Atlas Tube. “The HSS Connections Hub continues to evolve as a central resource where engineers and project teams can streamline workflows, reduce complexity and move projects forward with greater confidence.”
Supporting the Full Project Lifecycle
Atlas Tube’s investments in digital tools are part of a broader commitment to supporting the structural steel industry with both technology and technical expertise.
Atlas Tube is committed to supporting engineers, fabricators and detailers with advanced technology that makes it easier to design and build with HSS,” said Chris Hoyt, President, Atlas Tube. “We believe HSS is a better material that can be utilized across a wide spectrum of applications so we’ve also expanded our engineering team to provide day-to-day design support and help project teams explore alternative approaches that can accelerate construction.”
Attendees can visit Atlas Tube at booth #1231 during NASCC: The Steel Conference, April 22–24 in Atlanta, to see live demonstrations of the HSS Connections Hub and learn how the latest features can improve project efficiency and performance.
