Jack Schiavone will direct high growth potential New England business; Tom Scerbo joins firm to oversee the historic and prolific New York Metro market.
NEW YORK — With tremendous momentum for infrastructure development across New York Metro and New England, WSP in the U.S., one of the world’s leading professional services firms, welcomes two respected industry leaders as regional executives to enhance continued growth.
Jack Schiavone now serves as New England regional executive. He previously led WSP Global’s industrial sector. He is based in Rhode Island.
Tom Scerbo, AIA, arrives at WSP with more than 25 years of architecture and infrastructure experience and now serves as New York Metro regional executive. He is based in New York.
Both join WSP’s U.S. executive leadership team.
Schiavone and Scerbo lead growth, strategy deployment, client engagement, performance management and cross-collaboration across WSP business lines and sectors in their respective regions.
“Jack and Tom are dynamic leaders who bring a variety of complementary talents to help strengthen two of the nation’s most crucial infrastructure markets — the New York metro and New England regions,” said Joe Sczurko, WSP U.S. region president. “As they work together and collaborate with other U.S. regional executives, I have no doubt Jack and Tom will quickly bring responsive connectivity to clients, pulling from their legacy of relationships and major project experiences gained during other roles.”
With 25 years of service with WSP Global and WSP in the U.S. in various leadership positions, Schiavone is positioned to share his global expertise and ideas with clients throughout New England. Prior to WSP’s acquisition of John Wood Group’s (Wood) Environment and Infrastructure business, Schiavone led its industrial sector.
Schiavone is a graduate of the University of Connecticut with a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering. He spent the first part of his career inside industry leading environmental and risk management programs at two large multinational industrial corporations.
Scerbo joins WSP after holding senior executive roles at other architecture-engineering-construction firms, overseeing major transportation, buildings, resiliency and civic projects across the Northeast.
He has led large integrated teams delivering aviation terminals, transit centers, federal facilities, climate‑resilient waterfront infrastructure and major public-private partnership developments. His leadership spans strategy, business development, large‑scale program oversight and advancement of digital and collaborative project delivery practices.
Scerbo is a graduate of the New York Institute of Technology with a bachelor’s degree in architecture, and Columbia University Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation with a master’s degree in advanced architectural design. A member of numerous industry organizations, he currently serves as president of the Society of American Military Engineers, New York City Post; and board advisor for Columbia University’s Center for Buildings, Infrastructure and Public Space.
Across the Northeastern U.S., WSP is engaged in multiple major infrastructure programs that improve mobility, resilience and community well‑being. Projects underway or recently completed in the New York Metro and New England regions include: Hudson Tunnel Project transit alignment, from Secaucus Junction Station in New Jersey to Manhattan’s Penn Station; Propel NY Energy underground electric transmission project, USTA Arthur Ashe Stadium renovations; Lindemann Performing Arts Center at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island; Norwalk WALK Bridge Program in Connecticut; Boston Logan International Airport, Terminal C-E Connector; and the I-95/I-91/Route 34 interchange in New Haven, Connecticut.
