Holden, LA (June 25, 2026) — Gainey's is celebrating 45 years in business, marking four and a half decades of manufacturing precast concrete solutions, expanding into new markets and technologies, and building lasting partnerships throughout the Gulf Coast construction industry.
Since its founding in 1981, Gainey's has grown from a small family-owned septic tank manufacturer into a regional leader in precast concrete, serving contractors, engineers, municipalities and owners with sanitary and stormwater structures, industrial precast, custom-engineered products, wastewater treatment systems and specialty contracting services. Today, the company employs more than 120 people and continues to expand its capabilities while remaining privately owned and family-operated.
The company's growth has been fueled by a commitment to solving customers' challenges through innovation. Over the years, Gainey's has expanded from standard precast products into highly engineered custom structures, heavy precast weighing more than 125,000 pounds, commercial wastewater treatment systems and turnkey contracting services. Recent milestones include earning its Mississippi Municipal and Public Works Construction license, allowing the company to install wastewater treatment systems in both Louisiana and Mississippi, and receiving industry recognition for project excellence, safety and workplace culture.
"Reaching 45 years is about much more than staying in business," said Lisa Roache, CEO of Gainey's. "It's about honoring the people who built this company, the customers who trusted us, and the employees who continue to move us forward every day. We are incredibly grateful for everyone who has been part of our journey."
The milestone comes as Gainey's continues investing in advanced manufacturing, engineering expertise and new product development to meet the growing needs of civil infrastructure projects across the Gulf Coast. From municipal utilities and industrial facilities to transportation infrastructure and commercial developments, the company has positioned itself as a technical partner that helps customers solve complex construction challenges.
The story of Gainey's began with founder Richard Gainey, whose commitment to quality became the cornerstone of the business. While installing septic tanks in the early 1980s, Richard witnessed a poorly manufactured concrete tank failure during installation. Determined that quality should never depend on someone else's standards, he decided to manufacture his own products.
For the first three years, Richard worked two jobs, installing septic systems during the day while working nights at Equitable Shipyards, to build the company. His wife and children worked alongside him, making Gainey's a true family business from its first day.
In 1994, shortly after purchasing the company's current property in Holden, Richard unexpectedly passed away. Faced with the loss of its founder and significant uncertainty, the Gainey family chose to continue his vision. Despite losing nearly half of its workforce during that difficult period, the family and dedicated employees persevered, laying the foundation for the company that exists today.
When Greg Roache joined the company in 2002, Gainey's entered a new era of strategic growth. Investments in manufacturing technology, production capacity, quality systems and employee development transformed the company from a small regional producer into one of the Gulf Coast's most technically advanced precast manufacturers.
Along the way, Gainey's has overcome major challenges that strengthened its culture. The company rebuilt after Hurricane Katrina, recovered from the historic 2016 Louisiana flood and has continued supporting communities during disaster recovery efforts by manufacturing critical infrastructure when it is needed most.
Today, Gainey's is recognized for its engineering expertise, customer-focused approach and commitment to innovation. The company has diversified its product offerings, expanded into heavy custom precast and industrial infrastructure, grown its wastewater treatment division and strengthened its contracting services, allowing customers to benefit from complete turnkey solutions.
"What makes Gainey's special isn't just the products we manufacture," said Greg Roache, president of Gainey's. "It's our people and our culture. As we've grown, we've never lost sight of what matters most, putting customers first, investing in our employees and continually finding better ways to serve the industry. That's what will continue driving us over the next 45 years."
While the company has changed dramatically since 1981, its mission remains rooted in the same values established by its founder: delivering quality products, standing behind its work and building relationships that last.
As Gainey's celebrates its 45th anniversary, the company looks ahead with continued investments in manufacturing technology, engineering innovation and geographic expansion, while remaining committed to its core values of passion, integrity, innovation, reliability and quality.
