Gain greater control over curb ramp design inputs and adapt more easily to constrained retrofit conditions with new workflow enhancements and design capabilities
[Vancouver, BC, Canada] — Transoft Solutions, a global leader in transportation engineering software and road safety solutions, today announced the release of AQCESSRAMP 2026.
This software release builds on improving the flexibility around designing and retrofitting curb ramps to fit various site conditions with more control on inputs. These improvements make it easier to adapt designs to complex site conditions, especially in retrofit projects where existing infrastructure presents unique challenges.
Retrofitting curb ramps to ADA standards sounds straightforward until you’re dealing with constrained sites, existing infrastructure, and CAD workarounds that slow everything down.
A Powerful Patented Curb Ramp Technology
AQCESSRAMP supports engineers with tools that streamline curb ramp design and retrofits. The curb ramp technology has received patent approval in both the United States (U.S. Patent No. 11,907,619) from the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and in Canada (Canadian Patent No. 3076047) from the Canadian Intellectual Property Office (CIPO).
Steven Chan, VP of Transportation at Transoft Solutions, states, "We are thrilled to receive recognition from the USPTO and CIPO for our technology and method for improving the efficiency and safety of curb ramps designs. With years of dedication, research, and collaboration, we continue to strive and assist practitioners in making the world a more inclusive place for everyone.”
These patents recognize the innovation behind AQCESSRAMP, reinforcing our commitment to accessible and inclusive infrastructure design.
Here is what’s new in the latest release of AQCESSRAMP:
1. Added Input Modes
· Input the value for the curb ramp attribute (slope, length or elevations) by choosing from “Slope & Length,” “Elevation & Length,” or “Slope & Elevation” input modes to design ramps. This helps align the software with your preferred workflow, reducing guesswork by designing based on known site constraints.
· Design based on what you already know about the site, and the aspects you wish to change or lock, such as slope, elevation, or ramp length, and reduce trial-and-error.

2. Added half parallel curb ramps
· Select a half parallel curb ramp when dealing with constrained (narrow and/or steep) site layouts.
· Toggle components on or off via modularization to switch to and from a parallel curb ramp with ease.

3. Improved retaining wall editing abilities
· Adjust retaining wall height, width, and depth to closely match existing site conditions.
· Add end walls as well as adjust uniform and variable elevations.

4. Added “Export Ramp”
· Output your designed curb as 3D polylines (AutoCAD®) or feature lines (Civil 3D®) without exploding elements and losing the block’s intelligence.
· Continue your CAD work after completing designs in AQCESSRAMP. Preserve design intelligence with native CAD geometry and support digital delivery, without needing to redo curb designs in AQCESSRAMP.
