Spain – European BIM Summit 2015

The Col·legi d’Aparelladors, arquitectes tècnics i enginyers d’edificació de Barcelona (Association of Quantity Surveyors, Technical Architects and Building Engineers of Barcelona-CAATEEB), jointly with the BIM Academy^®, is preparing a top-level congress on Building Information Modelling (BIM) in Barcelona for February 2015: the EUROPEAN BIM SUMMIT 2015.
The CAATEEB is an organization that brings together over 8,000 construction professionals specializing in all the phases that make up the building life cycle, from planning to site work, subsequent maintenance and rehabilitation, bringing value to the phases of planning, design and construction, and quality and economic control of the construction process.

The BIM Academy^®, an organization for training, information and implantation of BIM, created by the WITS Institute, has become the point of reference for BIM and Lean in the construction sector in Spain.

Together, the CAATEEB and the BIM Academy are working to improve the training and knowledge in this field, in person and online (with AreaBS), of all kinds of professionals and experts nationwide, representing almost 55,000 associates.
Realizing the importance to the sector in Europe and worldwide of this new across-the-board model of organizing the construction process, and the need in our environment to adopt the good practices already being implemented in other countries, we feel it is essential to invite international experts in the field to help us reflect on the changes it represents for the sector and its professionals, and to identify the opportunities and, most particularly, the improvements in efficiency and transparency that are so necessary to the current outdated model.
