Gas Blast in Taiwan Tears up Roadway and Displaces Residents

A chain reaction of gas explosions late Thursday night rocked a full square kilometer of the densely populated Kaohsiung, Taiwan, injuring 267 and killing 25. The blasts flipped cars and created a deep trench along roadways.

The cause of the blasts haven’t been determined, but the many petrochemical companies in the area are prime culprits.
