The company’s Traffic Management, Plan Share and Live Link modules will offer an end-to-end road construction communications solution, from permitting to project completion.

Tampa, Florida – Causeway one.network, a leading digital work zone and road management platform provider, today announced that Hillsborough County, Florida has signed an agreement to adopt the company’s Traffic Management, Plan Share, and Live Link modules to address work zone permitting, right-of-way management, and safety. It is part of an effort by the County to increase efficiency and improve data quality for the County’s internal systems, connected vehicles, and partners. The agreement opens the door for statewide right-of-way coordination with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), following a successful pilot and subsequent long-term agreement between Causeway one.network and the agency. It also ties into regional right-of-way management with the Tampa Hillsborough Expressway Authority (THEA), which began utilizing Causeway one.network’s system nearly a year ago.

With a population approaching 1.5 million, Hillsborough County in the Tampa Bay area is Florida’s fourth most populous county. The County had expressed a desire to ease the inconvenience of road closures by communicating more effectively with the driving public using the navigation apps drivers use to make travel plans. “We’re excited to bring these solutions to Hillsborough County. They provide a beginning to end solution from simplifying communication during the permitting process, to giving drivers higher visibility around work zones,” said Simon Topp, Causeway one.network’s Chief Commercial Officer. “We are already working with so many agencies in the state including the Florida DOT, the Central Florida Expressway Authority, Tampa Hillsborough Expressway Authority and Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise. This is a natural extension of our commitment to the residents and visitors in the Sunshine State.”

Causeway one.network’s Traffic Management, Plan Share, and Live Link integrate to provide a seamless process for stakeholders whether they are County employees, contractors, or members of the driving public. The Traffic Management module allows County employees to create and communicate road closures, work zones, detour routes, bus lane suspensions, and many other interventions associated with planned and unplanned events in near real-time. Plan Share enables external teams, contractors, and others to apply for right-of-way and work zone closure permits. Agencies can review and approve those plans with full situational awareness of the impact on drivers in a simple map-based solution. Live Link allows authorized workers to update the major navigation providers on their location, any lane closures, reduced speed limits, and whether a work zone is active, all with a few simple clicks on a mobile application and right from the work zone.

In addition to the three modules, the agreement will also give the County access to Causeway one.network’s overarching cloud-based Software as a Service (“SaaS”) platform, utilizing Open Street Maps for an intuitive user experience. It serves as an operational tool for traffic operations teams, providing a public facing embeddable website where the public, agency partners, and neighboring agencies can visualize work zones and traffic interventions, and register for email alerts of upcoming road construction projects. Causeway one.network also syndicates all event data to the major navigation providers including Google, Waze, TomTom, and navigation-specific companies including Drivewyze to reach commercial trucking drivers.

As part of the agreement and in alignment with Causeway one.network’s other Florida agreements, the company will provide training to assure all staff are aware of the software’s capability and can operate the modules to their full capacity.
