American Concrete Pipe Association

The American Concrete Pipe Association (ACPA) is the spokesperson for the concrete pipe industry in all matters affecting the industry’s welfare.

Throughout the 20th century, the concrete pipe industry has experienced tremendous growth. As more and more people moved from farms to cities, it created increased demand for concrete sewer and drainage products. The introduction of the automobile and subsequent highway development extended the uses of concrete pipe storm drains and culverts. There are currently more than 400 plants operated by ACPA members in the United States and Canada. More than 40 countries are represented in the membership of the American Concrete Pipe Association.

ACPA members contribute to the improvement of our environment by producing quality concrete pipe, engineered to provide a lasting and economical solution to drainage and pollution problems.

Applied Bolting Technology

Applied Bolting Technology produces Squirter DTIs (Direct Tension Indicators) that supply a bright orange indication when bolts have been tensioned, making tight bolts easy to see. DTIs are load cells that ensure compliance with bolting standards and specs. Torque, Turn-of-Nut and TCs can all produce false-positive tension, and regularly do: Torque scatter is ±40 percent for new bolts, and worse for weathered. Relying on torque is optimism, at best. TCs are torque bolts adversely affected by cold or wet weather. Turn-of-Nut can be defeated by misrepresenting turn angle, regardless of turn applied. DTIs read load. If a bolt is tight, a Squirter DTI will show it, independent of weather, torque, angle, tool or skill.

AISC

Step inside the only circular structural supply chain

Structural steel is 93% recycled and 100% recyclable, making it a material that can be reused with no loss of quality for generations. Instead of going to the landfill or an incinerator, decommissioned bridges and buildings go right back into the supply chain to become steel again and again.

All structural shapes produced in the United States are made in electric arc furnaces, which use electricity to melt cars, refrigerators, demolished steel structures, and other scrap into new steel—your first car is probably a bridge or skyscraper right now.

Get an inside look at the recycling process with a VR tour of the Nucor-Yamato Steel plant in Blytheville, Ark., at aisc.org/circular.

Curecrete

For more than 70 years, Curecrete has focused solely on developing products to enhance concrete floors.

Ashford Formula was the first product to densify concrete, producing a dense, hard, stable surface. Water-based, non-toxic and simple to apply, it is widely specified in manufacturing plants, warehouses and distribution centers.

The RetroPlate System is a combination of diamond grinding, polishing and the RetroPlate densifier. This allows for the creation of limitless designs, polished to a marble-like sheen, along with the permanent qualities of a densified concrete floor: density, strength, abrasion resistance and dustproofing.

Curecrete products can be found on concrete floors across the globe. As the originator of the concrete-densification and polishing industries, Curecrete’s track record is proven and unmatched.

Duperon Corporation

FRIQ2

Tell us about your product-solving water-quality issues.

As extreme weather events grow in frequency and intensity, utilities are exploring new technologies that can adjust to changing environmental conditions without sacrificing efficiency. Duperon Corporation introduced the FlexRake IQ2 in response to this industry-wide need, which features a Smart Bar Screen with added hydraulic capacity that automatically responds to changing conditions in the channel, first by increasing the speed of the raking system. If speed alone doesn’t satisfy the high-flow conditions, it then has the ability to adjust the size of the openings, handling 40% more flow while capturing fine screen debris, all without operator intervention.

Environment One Corporation

Pressure Sewer Systems

Pressure sewage collection systems were pioneered by Environment One. E/One Sewer systems have proven to be an effective method of sewering otherwise difficult land areas, such as flat, wet, rocky and hilly terrain at a fraction of the cost of gravity sewers. Pressure sewer mains need only to be buried just below the frost line, eliminating the need for the deep trenches often associated with gravity sewers. The small, flexible pipes are also resistant to I&I.

At the heart of an E/One Sewer is the grinder pump, developed by Environment One. These units accept household sanitary waste, grind it into a fine slurry, and pressurize it to permit transport through small-diameter pipes. E/One Sewer Systems serve more than 2 million end users daily.
