These respected architects expand Woolpert’s capabilities and strategically address demonstrated client need.

DAYTON, Ohio (Nov. 29, 2022) — Woolpert has hired Urbanism and Planning Sustainability Team Lead Shawn Tubb and Architecture and Interior Design Discipline Leader Chris Shrodes to augment its global design team. These architects will manage growing teams that help Woolpert clients achieve their visions for next-level sustainable design.

Tubb’s impressive portfolio reflects his lifelong environmental advocacy. A longtime volunteer for Habitat for Humanity and multiple preservation agencies, Tubb has extensive experience in urban planning and revitalization, adaptive reuse, historic preservation and design-build. In addition to crafting and renovating buildings across Asia, Europe and North America, Tubb is a filmmaker and published author who earned a Preservation Education Award for his book about Cincinnati’s Terrace Plaza Hotel.

“Protecting the planet is not an option; it is a responsibility,” Tubb said. “My ambition is to ensure innovative environmental design technologies optimally support highly functional infrastructure to deliver beauty and maximize efficiency, while advancing crucial social and environmental initiatives.”

Shrodes has nearly three decades of architecture and leadership experience, most recently serving as director of operations at AECOM. At Woolpert, Shrodes will promote collaboration and efficiency to ensure team members and clients receive the full benefit of Woolpert’s deep and versatile bench of architects, while drawing from in-house engineering and geospatial expertise when needed.

“My passion is to serve clients at the highest level,” Shrodes said, “and that entails building high-functioning teams, advancing strengths, addressing weaknesses, providing structured mentoring and fostering success at all levels. This is what Woolpert is doing, and I am excited to be a part of it.”

Woolpert Vice President and Buildings Sector Leader Suzette Stoler said both Shrodes and Tubb support the firm’s strategic architectural growth.

“We are fortunate to have a structure in place that enables us to build a team specific to our clients’ needs,” Stoler said. “Both Shawn and Chris are well-respected and well-connected leaders in sustainability, architecture and operations. Their experience and influence are already enhancing our ability to serve our clients. We are thrilled to have them as part of our Woolpert team.”
