The Masonry Society releases 2022 Edition of TMS 402/602
Following a 6-year development schedule, The Masonry Society (TMS) has completed and published the 2022 edition of TMS 402/602 Building Code Requirements and Specification for Masonry Structures. This updated edition of TMS 402/602 includes numerous changes and additions such as completely revised veneer provisions that are more rationally based and a new Appendix on the use of GFRP (Glass Fibre Reinforced Polymer) reinforced masonry.These and other major changes will be reviewed in a 5-session Night School starting on October 19.
TMS is releasing the standards in 3 versions:
- Printed Version: Books are being printed and will be available in late August.
- Locked Electronic Version: As with recent past editions of TMS 402/602, a protected electronic version is available now for those who prefer immediate access and want a searchable electronic copy.
Online Enhanced Version: TMS Standards Online – 402/602 is being developed with a planned release in early 2023. TMS Standards Online will be a powerful resource allowing users to access the provisions of TMS 402/TMS 602 with extensive enhanced features including complete internal linking, and deep searching capabilities. These features and others such as the ability to add one’s own notes and comments will make TMS 402/602 Online the version of the standards that users will prefer due to its ease of use and additional linked content. TMS will first offer the 2016 edition of TMS 402/TMS 602 on standards.masonrysociety.org in early 2023. The 2022 edition of these standards will be posted shortly thereafter. Access to these powerful online resources will be available on an annual subscription basis. That platform will be frequently updated to offer links to papers, webinars, guides, and other resources that will assist users on understanding and applying TMS 402/602 for their projects. 2022 Fall Night School – The New TMS 402/602-22
Review of the New Standards and Changes Made
During this five-part Night School webinar series, masonry experts and Committee leaders will review the new standards, TMS 402/602-22 Building Code Requirements and Specification for Masonry Structures, and significant changes made since the 2016 edition. The series begins on October 19 and will run through November 16 and each session will be held at 7PM ET. Courses will be online and will provide one hour of continuing education (1 PDH / 0.10 CEU).
