Dallas Hammit Joins WSP USA Leadership for Southwest Mountain District

Former deputy director for the Arizona Department of Transportation brings more than three decades of transportation experience to his new leadership role at the firm.

TEMPE, ARIZONA, August 2, 2022 — Dallas Hammit is joining the Southwest Mountain District leadership team at WSP USA, a leading engineering and professional services consultancy.

Hammit will support the district across all business lines by providing marketing, sales and technical leadership; by maintaining relationships with top clients in the district; and by leading national business line strategy and enhancing our collaboration and client focus. He will be based in Tempe.

Hammit brings more than 30 years of transportation industry experience to WSP, most recently serving as the Arizona state transportation manager for a southwestern U.S.-based engineering firm. He previously worked for the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT), where he served in a number of leadership roles, including seven years as deputy director of transportation and state engineer. Earlier in his career he worked as a district engineer for the Prescott and Yuma districts in Arizona, a senior resident/maintenance engineer for the Yuma district, and as a resident engineer for a Wichita, Kansas-based engineering firm.

Hammit is a graduate of the University of Wyoming with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and Casper College with an associate degree in engineering. He was chair of the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) construction committee, vice chair of the AASHTO Innovation Initiative, and chair of the Western Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (WASHTO) construction and materials committee.
