CivilGEO Releases GeoHECRAS Version 4.0
Madison, WI, July 26, 2022 – CivilGEO, a leading provider of civil engineering software, has released a new version of GeoHECRAS software. GeoHECRAS Version 4.0 now supports HEC-RAS versions 6.1 and 6.2 analysis engines, in addition to all previous HEC-RAS analysis engines dating back to and including 3.1. It can perform both steady and unsteady flow computations for both 1D, 2D, and hybrid 1D & 2D model domains. This latest release of GeoHECRAS Version 4.0 provides key new features, updates, and bug fixes.
GeoHECRAS is an AutoCAD, Bentley MicroStation and ESRI ArcGIS compatible and interactive 2D/3D graphical user interface data wrapper to U.S. Army Corps of Engineer’s HEC-RAS software. GeoHECRAS greatly speeds up HEC-RAS model creation and produces modeling scenarios that are more accurate and ultimately more useful to engineers.
GeoHECRAS software rapidly constructs HEC-RAS models as it pulls data from an ever-expanding variety of sources. It computes water surface profiles for steady and unsteady flow conditions, analyzes and designs bridge and culvert roadway crossings, generates floodplain and flood hazard maps, performs river and stream restorations and realignments, computes flood inundation maps for possible dam and levee failures, and much more.
Release highlights include:
- HEC-RAS 6.x Support
- 2D Roadway Crossings
- Bridge Pier 3D Visualization
- Licensing Troubleshooting Wizard
- Clip Raster Command
- Photo Catalog
- Draw and Classify Land Use Command
- Online Land Cover Data
- Built-in Online Help
Chris Maeder, Engineering Director at CivilGEO, said, “GeoHECRAS Version 4.0 now supports HEC-RAS analysis engine 6.2 and provides advanced 2D bridge modeling capabilities. This latest release includes Licensing Troubleshooting Wizard and built-in online help that will, together with all the other upgrades, make our clients’ lives much easier.”
