ACI Foundation Now Accepting Fellowship and Scholarship Applications

The ACI Foundation is now accepting applications from graduate and undergraduate students for the 2023-2024 academic year. Four new fellowships and three new scholarships have been added, growing the total annual awards available to 38. New awards include:

• JoAnne K. and Cecil L. Jones Carolinas Fellowship (graduate or undergraduate)
• Bernard Erlin Memorial Scholarship (graduate)
• ACI Foundation Fellowship (3 awards – graduate or undergraduate)
• ACI Foundation Scholarship (2 awards – now for graduate or undergraduate)

ACI Foundation fellowships are offered to both undergraduate and graduate students pursuing a concrete-related degree at an accredited institution in US, Canada, or Mexico. Students in eligible countries can apply for the ACI Foundation Middle East & North Africa Fellowship.

The JoAnne K. and Cecil L. Jones Carolinas Fellowship, Barbara S. and W. Calvin McCall Carolinas Fellowship, the Burg-Coleman Iowa State ‘77 ACI Fellowship, the Darrell F. Elliot Louisiana Fellowship, Maloof – GA, Nick Bada – ACI Ontario Chapter Graduate Scholarship and the Roger S. Johnston Memorial Scholarship give priority to students from specific states/provinces. The AOE Fellowship is for students pursuing a degree in the Concrete Industry Management (CIM) program from either Middle Tennessee State University, New Jersey Institute of Technology, California State University – Chico, Texas State University or South Dakota State University.

Students must obtain two endorsements, with one being from an ACI member.

Fellowships provide the following benefits:

• An educational stipend of $10,000 ($15,000 USD for the Falconer Fellowship).
• Airfare, hotel, travel stipend, and registration to attend two ACI Concrete Conventions (travel contingent upon state and country laws).
• Assignment to a mentor.
• An internship, if required; and
• Recognition at ACI Concrete Conventions, in Concrete International, and on ACI Foundation’s website and social media.

ACI Foundation scholarships are also offered to graduate and undergraduate students pursuing a concrete-related degree or program. International students are eligible to apply for all scholarships that are not region specific as defined by the sponsor. Among other requirements, students must obtain two endorsements with one of the endorsements being from an ACI member. Each ACI Foundation scholarship includes an educational stipend of $5000 USD; and recognition in Concrete International and on the ACI Foundation’s website and social media.

The purpose of the ACI Foundation’s student fellowship and scholarship program is to identify, attract, and develop outstanding professionals for future careers in the concrete industry.

The deadline for this application period is November 1, 2022, at 11:59 p.m. EDT. Mandatory internships would occur during the summer of 2023 and the full award cycle covers the 2023 fall semester through the 2024 spring semester.
