International engineering, design, and advisory firm Aurecon has added New Zealand, Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam to its international standard ISO 19650 BSI Kitemark™ certification for Building Information Modelling (BIM) Design and Construction. This recent certification makes Aurecon the first engineering organisation in Vietnam and Thailand to achieve the BSI Kitemark.

British Standards Institution (BSI) Kitemark certification is the international benchmark for excellence in digital engineering and project delivery, recognising ā€œorganisation and digitisation of information about buildings and civil engineering worksā€. Having been one of the first organisations globally to be certified in 2019, Aurecon has achieved recertification for three years in Australia to 2025.

BSI found consistent application of Aureconā€™s tightly aligned Project Information Management Standard, known as APIMS, across all global offices. Their review involved an audit of Aureconā€™s standards, methods and procedures aligning to ISO 19650 and multiple projects in each country, to determine compliance throughout all stages of tender responses and project delivery.

Achieving the BSI Kitemark in Asia and New Zealand demonstrates that Aurecon has been independently assessed in delivering projects and collaborating with stakeholders in line with industry best practice.

Stephane Asselin, Chief Executive, Aurecon Asia said, ā€œBeing the first engineering organisation in Vietnam and Thailand to achieve the BSI Kitemark is a significant milestone. It reaffirms Aureconā€™s market leading position in Asia. The certification attests to our commitment to excellence in every market that we operate in and strengthens our position to continue delivering innovative solutions for our clients.ā€

Aureconā€™s New Zealand Managing Director Tracey Ryan said securing the certification was about aligning with the direction clients are taking on their own digital engineering transformation journeys. ā€œMany of our key clients are recognising the value of ISO 19650 certification, so achieving this is an important step for Aurecon in ensuring we can continue to offer them high quality digital engineering services.ā€ Aureconā€™s digital professionals (who have obtained the highest level of certification) played an integral role in securing the certification in New Zealand.

Aureconā€™s Group Managing Principal Eminence, Digital & Innovation Dr Andrew Maher said achieving the BSI Kitemark certification in another five countries will further cement Aureconā€™s leadership in digital engineering across Asia-Pacific.

ā€œAurecon invests heavily in digital transformation and innovation across regions as we are committed to transforming engineering and design with digital ways of working. It is imperative for the engineering industry today to couple cutting-edge digital skills with subject matter expertise to create solutions and products that can connect the digital and physical worlds.ā€

Aureconā€™s clients are set to benefit from an organisation that understands the value of asset information and ensures that delivery strategies are in place to provide the right information to the right people at the right time, enabling more informed and risk managed decision-making. According to a recent joint report, between US$5.56 and US$6.95 of direct labour productivity gains could be made for every US$1.39 invested in information management, such as digitising information.
