Applied Bolting Technology
Applied Bolting Technology produces DuraSquirt DTIs (Direct Tension Indicators) that supply a bright orange indication when bolts have been tensioned, making tight bolts easy to see. DTIs are load cells that ensure compliance with bolting standards and specs. Torque, Turn-of-Nut and TCs can all produce false-positive tension and regularly do: Torque scatter is ±40% for new bolts, and worse for weathered. Relying on torque is optimism, at best. TCs are torque bolts that are adversely affected by cold or wet weather. Turn-of-Nut can be defeated by misrepresenting turn angle, regardless of turn applied. DTIs read load. If a bolt is tight, a DTI will show it, independent of weather, torque, angle, tool or skill.

SELFLEVEL Asphalt Access Assembly Engineered To Keep Manhole Covers Flush With the Pavement
Traditional methods of installation, resetting or replacing manhole frames and covers can be costly and time consuming.
EJ has designed a highly engineered two-frame system to solve this problem. The SELFLEVEL access assembly has a unique design that allows contractors to save time during installation and minimize maintenance costs. Once the bottom frame is set, the top frame is adjusted as asphalt is laid. Once installed, the self-leveling unit will continue to move with the road surface. The road surface aids in absorption of traffic vibration and shock.
The SELFLEVEL access assembly helps eliminate pavement cracking around the manhole due to frost heave, uplift and settling. It also prolongs road life and provides improved ride quality to meet smooth-street initiatives. The assembly works for both retrofit and new installations in asphalt or concrete.
