Ford Marketing Exec Opens Up About GPS Tracking
Jim Farley, the global vp of marketing and sales at Ford spoke at CES on a consumer privacy panel, and disclosed that, “We know everyone who breaks the law, we know when you’re doing it. We have GPS in your car, so we know what you’re doing.”
Farley subsequently backtracked on the statement, indicating that it left the wrong impression as they don’t share data or track anyone without approval or consent. The statement does raise eyebrows in terms of connected cars and the amount of data that they are gathering and what that says about individuals.
