CBI Urges UK Government Action on Infrastructure
Improving Britain’s infrastructure is a key plank of the Government’s much-criticised growth agenda but it is struggling to attract the necessary investment from the private sector, not least for riskier greenfield projects. CBI believes the Government must “fill the void” left by the now defunct monoline insurance market, which enhanced the credit ratings of bonds by insuring them against risks. That market collapsed with the financial crisis.
