Aging Infrastructure Leads to Gas Leaks

Aging infrastructure can be as much a problem in Palm Beach as in other municipalities.

A gas leak can spring up when construction crews accidentally hit a main. But just as often, these pipes — which can be up to 80 years old — fail when small cracks form. There have been two gas line leaks in Palm Beach over the past month alone — the most recent on Christmas Eve near the intersection of South Ocean Boulevard and Southern Boulevard.
