Dubai Launches a Geospatial App to Become a Smart City

Having launched the new geographic addressing system developed by the Geographic Information System Department of Dubai Municipality, Eng. Abdullah Rafia, assistant director general for engineering and planning sector of the civic body said that the new Makani (my location) app would be a turning point in the journey of Dubai towards becoming the smartest city in the world.

This came during the second day of the First Annual Scientific Forum for GIS and Remote Sensing in GCC, held under the slogan “Smart Maps for Smart City”, in the training centre of Dubai Municipality.
