REDWOOD CITY, Calif. (December 15, 2021) – Doxel, developer of the first AI-Powered Project Controls Solution for the construction industry, has appointed seasoned sales and customer success leader Garrick Ballantine as their new Chief Revenue Officer.

Ballantine brings almost two decades of sales experience, spanning multiple high-growth technology organizations, having joined Doxel from Ouster where he served as Senior Vice President of Sales. Prior to Ouster, Ballantine was Vice President of Sales at Planet Labs, where he grew revenue for geospatial data-service to significant scale and ultimately IPO.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Garrick to Doxel with his proven track record of success operating at scale, exceptional leadership, and refuse-to-lose attitude as we continue to scale our revenue and recruit talent,” said Saurabh Ladha, co-founder and CEO, Doxel. “Garrick’s history of leading companies from early-stage to IPO will be instrumental as we execute our next phase of growth. We couldn’t be more happy to be partnering with Garrick in taking the value of AI-based project controls to transform the world’s $12T construction industry.”

Ballantine’s addition reinforces Doxel’s commitment to growth and to continue to provide industry-leading solutions for the construction industry that identify and eliminate potentially expensive delays and cost overruns in major construction projects before they occur.

In his role as Chief Revenue Officer, Ballantine will lead all of Doxel’s commercial efforts, overseeing the company’s revenue infrastructure and growing a world-class sales and customer success team.

“Doxel’s world-class team, groundbreaking product, and backing by leading investors like Insight Partners and Andreessen Horowitz caught my attention,” said Ballantine. “The unique capabilities of Doxels AI-Powered Project Controls solution along with the massive total addressable market with owners and general contractors makes for a very compelling growth opportunity. I look forward to scaling Doxel’s go-to-market efforts and working more closely with our customers.”

The company also announced that Mike Almeida has joined as Head of Commercial Sales, with a focus on General Contractors. Almeida was previously Head of Sales at StructionSite and has also led sales teams at Procore. Almeida brings a wealth of construction technology sales experience and will report to Ballantine.

Ballantine’s hiring as Chief Revenue Officer follows the company’s recent announcement of closing $40 million in Series B financing in a round led by New York-based global private equity and venture capital firm Insight Partners, with participation from existing investors Andreessen Horowitz and Amplo. Bringing Doxel’s total funding to $56.5 million, the investment allows the company to extend its artificial intelligence platform and rapidly accelerate recruiting across its engineering, sales, marketing and product teams. Ballantine’s addition also continues Doxel’s ongoing hiring efforts as the company recently appointed Reid Senescu as the new Head of Product to strengthen their AI-powered construction technology to keep major projects on time and on budget.
