Online Mapping Program Helps Assess Abandoned House Situation in Camden

While abandoned property contributes to blight and crime in Camden, no one has ever measured its vastness.
That may change in the coming months because of a city-wide mapping program that helps quantify the problem. Developed by a coalition of nonprofits and agencies, an early version of the map went online this weekend.
The data from city-based CamConnect allows for a neighborhood-by-neighborhood look at assessments, sale prices, property class, whether the building is owner-occupied and the age of the home.
