HNTB’s Regine Beauboeuf among COMTO’s “Women Who Move the Nation”
Award program recognizes women in transportation whose leadership and contributions are advancing the industry
DETROIT – Regine Beauboeuf, PE, director of infrastructure and mobility equity and senior vice president at HNTB Corporation, was recognized by the Conference of Minority Transportation Officials as one of 13 “Women Who Move the Nation.” Her recognition took place at the COMTO 50th Anniversary Virtual National Meeting and Training Conference, held Sept. 28-30, 2021.
COMTO’s annual Celebrating Women Who Move the Nation awards acknowledge women from across the transportation sector whose expertise, commitment and leadership advance the industry and improve mobility.
“It’s an incredible honor to be recognized by COMTO and I hope that all of the women celebrated today inspire others to never give up on the journey,” said Beauboeuf. “I am grateful to be part of such an esteemed group of women transportation leaders who are creating a powerful legacy for both our industry and our communities.”
Beauboeuf has built a career of more than 35 years managing and delivering complex transportation infrastructure that strengthens communities. She began her career in the Michigan Department of Transportation’s bridge design and project development sections where she worked as supervising engineer on highway projects statewide. Following MDOT, she held leadership roles in the private sector, including managing the engineering program for the $4.5 billion Detroit River International Crossing, now called the Gordie Howe Bridge.
At HNTB, Beauboeuf previously managed the $217 million Innovate Mound Road project which is transforming the busy southeast Michigan corridor with economic development and safety improvements. In her current role as director of infrastructure and mobility equity, she is charged with providing technical expertise and leadership on HNTB’s ongoing efforts advancing equity through the organization’s existing work, enhancing the Partners Program, increasing opportunities for historically underutilized businesses and collaboration with industry associations.
Beauboeuf’s commitment to service outside the office is extensive. She is a past board member of the American Council of Engineering Companies of Michigan and the Michigan State Board of Licensed Surveyors. She also was chair of the Michigan State Board of Professional Engineers and is an at-large board member of COMTO. Beauboeuf also is an active member of The Renaissance (MI) Chapter of the Links, Incorporated, a non-profit group of professional women of color dedicated to community enrichment and sustainability. She recently was elected to the Michigan Women Forward board of trustees overseeing the Michigan Women Foundation and the Michigan Women Hall of Fame, and a member of Leadership America, class of 2020. Beauboeuf is a trustee at Central Michigan University (nominated by Gov. Gretchen Whitmer), and a board member of the Michigan-Israeli Business Accelerator, a non-profit organization committed to advancing Michigan’s innovative ecosystem, through Israeli connections.
Beauboeuf earned a Bachelor of Architectural Engineering at the National University of Haiti and a Master of Business Administration focused on strategic management and leadership at Davenport University.
