Kuruvilla Named Counselor of the Society for Industry Contributions

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (July 7, 2021) – Viji Kuruvilla, vice president of quality for Lexicon, Inc., has been named a Counselor of the American Welding Society (AWS). AWS selected Kuruvilla from an elite group of leaders for his substantial contributions to the industry through training, vocational education and employee support.

During his more than 35-year career, Kuruvilla has spearheaded complex infrastructure projects around the globe. Since joining Lexicon in 2015, he has implemented management processes to maintain the highest possible level of quality on Lexicon’s job sites and among its more than 1,800 employees. As a member of the executive team, he has also focused on its strategic growth and trained and mentored its high-performance teams. Recently, Lexicon was named to Arkansas Business’s “Top 75” list of the state’s largest private companies. Originally from India, Kuruvilla has lived in the United States with his wife, Sherli, for nearly 35 years. They have two children, Ashley and Joshua.

Founded in 1919, AWS has advanced the science, technology and application of welding and allied joining and cutting processes through certifications, education and industry standards. In 1999, AWS created the Counselor of the Society to recognize members whose distinguished organizational leadership has enhanced the industry’s image and impact. Each year, AWS selects a maximum of five individuals for the honor.
