Washington, DC  – ACEC President and CEO Linda Bauer Darr released the following statement in response to the announcement that a bipartisan agreement has been reached on infrastructure:

“The announcement today by President Biden and a bipartisan group of Senators of a deal on infrastructure is tremendous news.  We are committed to working with the President and with Congress to moving this infrastructure package agreement quickly, as it will be a major driver in growing the nation’s economy and will benefit the American people for years to come.

A package of $1.2 trillion is a historic investment in America’s future. For the engineering industry alone, the bipartisan framework could result in a 6% increase in engineering and design industry output, create more than 82,000 new jobs and contribute more than $75 billion to GDP.

We urge Leader Schumer and Leader McConnell to endorse this framework and work with their colleagues in the House to build on this framework and make it law.”
