Skanska has signed a contract with Avantor to build Gullhaug Torg 2A, a mixed-use building in Oslo, Norway. The contract is worth NOK 415M, about SEK 410M, which will be included in the Nordic order bookings for the second quarter 2021.

Gullhaug Torg 2A is a mixed-use building with 18 floors comprising of 11,200 square meters, which will house a restaurant, office space and 41 apartments. The building has very high ambitions when it comes to sustainability and will utilize cutting edge innovations which greatly reduces its energy consumption.

The building will almost meet zero-energy levels and not require externally supplied energy for ventilation, heating, or cooling. Solar panels on the roof and the roof top gardens will provide the building with its own source of renewable energy. Gullhaug Torg 2A aims for a BREEAM NOR Excellent certification and is a FutureBuilt project, which means that it must reduce CO2 emissions from the materials used, transport and energy consumption by 50 percent compared to a conventional building.

The construction work is due to start in June 2021 and will be completed by July 2023.
