Brook Brookshire will now serve as Senior Vice President of Skanska’s civil infrastructure division in Florida.

ORLANDO, FL – Skanska, one of the world’s leading construction and development firms, is pleased to announce the promotion of Brook Brookshire to senior vice president of Skanska’s civil infrastructure operations in Florida.

In this role, Brookshire will be responsible for meeting the design-builder’s obligations and ensuring Skanska meets the contract requirements, including providing contract administration and communicating with project stakeholders and communities.

“Brook’s long-standing career with Skanska is a testament to his commitment and experience building road and bridge projects for the company that have made significant contributions to the economic future of those communities,” said Brian Stieritz, executive vice president for the Southeast for Skanska’s civil operations. “As Florida continues to experience significant population growth, the state’s aging infrastructure will need to be further improved and I am confident Brook will lead the firm to continued success in addressing these needs.”

Starting his career as a field engineer, Brookshire has spent his 33 years in the construction industry working with Skanska in the coastal Southeast region. Throughout his career, he has been involved in several transformative projects in Florida and throughout the southeastern US, including design-build projects such as the I-4 Ultimate reconstruction project in Central Florida and the 11th St. Corridor design-build project in Washington, DC. Brookshire’s project experience has included management of bridge, highway and marine projects with environmental sensitivity, long water/river crossing bridge replacements with compressed timelines, and demolition of structures over navigable waterways. Brookshire graduated from Virginia Tech University with a bachelor’s of science degree in civil engineering.

Currently, Skanska has more than a dozen active construction projects across the state spanning both its building and civil divisions, including the Imagine Clearwater Park, Orlando Health Jewett Orthopedic Institute, the University of Miami’s Frost Institute of Chemistry and Molecular Science, the I-4 Ultimate Improvement project and reconstruction of I-4 at SR 557 Interchange in Central Florida.
