Thirty-two of the world’s foremost land use and real estate industry professionals have been named to serve as Urban Land Institute (ULI) trustees for terms beginning July 1, 2012. The trustees provide leadership in advancing ULI’s mission, which is to provide leadership in the responsible use of land and in creating and sustaining thriving communities worldwide.

The newly elected trustees were announced earlier this month during ULI’s Spring Meeting in Charlotte, N.C. They were nominated by the ULI Board of Directors Governance Committee and subsequently elected by the institute’s full members. Each candidate’s ULI activity and participation, in addition to industry leadership, were among the criteria considered for the nominations. The addition of the new trustees brings the total number of ULI trustees to 123.

“The addition of these extraordinary land use leaders to the existing roster of trustees is strengthening ULI’s intellectual capital,” said ULI Chief Executive Officer Patrick L. Phillips. “As ULI continues to expand globally, our trustees offer invaluable insights and expertise to guide our program of work, and connect the real estate community in markets worldwide.”
