IECA Announces Board of Director Additions

Denver, Colo – The International Erosion Control Association (IECA) welcomes Chris Thomson, CHP and Andrew Macleod to the board of directors.

Chris Thomson, CHP

Thomson is a board member of the IECA Canadian chapter board of directors, president of the International Association of Hydroseeding Professionals and Vice President for the Canadian Land Reclamation Association. Macleod is the current president of the IECA Australasian Chapter. He is the second-generation owner of Maritime Hydroseed and “strive to be the green-industry leader in vegetation establishment and preventative solutions for erosion, dust, flood, sediment and storm water control in Atlantic Canada and beyond.”

Andrew Macleod

Macleod is the current president of the IECA’s Australasian chapter and has held the position for seven years. He has been able to double the chapter’s membership and increase activities and events for the chapter. He is a director of an environmental and engineering consultancy that works across Australia. He has provided technical services on erosion and sediment control for some of the largest infrastructure, mining and energy projects in Australia over the past 15 years.

“We’re excited to welcome Chris and Andrew to the board,” stated IECA CEO, Samantha A. Roe, IOM, “With the reunification with the Australasian Chapter and our expectation to grow internationally exponentially, we appreciate having more international representation on the board to provide a global focus for the association. Chris and Andrew will remain on the board through February 2022 at which time they will be up for re-election. We have varied skillsets on the board that will help us further our roadmap to future success.”
