Solmax is expanding its state-of-the-art manufacturing capabilities in Rechlin, Germany to produce PolyLock and Interlock polyethylene (LL/HDPE) profiles—extruded LL/HDPE concrete embedment strips that allow engineers and installers to securely and reliably set and anchor Solmax geomembranes to wet concrete.

Says Allan Jackson, EMEA Sales Director, Solmax: “Our Rechlin plant supplies our clients across Europe, Middle East and Africa, producing millions of square meters of geosynthetics for use in applications ranging from commercial and civil construction to mining and waste management.  OuPolyLock and InterLock HDPE profiles are considered to be the most effective and economical cast-in-place mechanical anchor systems for LL/HDPE in the market. Now, with the addition of production capacity to produce these profiles at our Rechlin, Germany plant, we ensure ready supply of an enhanced solution to the EMEA market.”

Solmax PolyLock is a rugged, durable, HDPE profile designed to set and anchor geomembranes to concrete. The T-shaped embedment anchor fingers create a high strength mechanical anchor in the concrete, while the exposed LL/HDPE surface allows for the geomembrane to be welded to the PolyLock.  This system creates the most effective barrier termination system for LL/HDPE on the market today.

Solmax Interlocks are used on our vertical barrier systems which are used in environmental and civil applications to contain, exclude or remove potentially hazardous liquids. Interlocks are permanently attached to the vertical edges of the geomembrane panels and make use of hydrophilic sealants to fill seam and other cavities. This ensures leak-free panel connections. The  Solmax CurtainWallInterlock system comprises a reversible HDPE profile designed with multiple sealant chambers, while our  GundWallInterlock system comprises male and female HDPE profiles that work much like a dovetail joint.

“These profiles are immediately available for use with geomembrane applications across industry sectors,” says Jackson. “We are pleased to be able to continue improving our service to our clients in the EMEA region—supporting the reliability and longevity of their containment applications to secure their investments and protect the earth.”
