Registration Open for DFI’s SuperPile ‘21 June 23-25 in Philadelphia and Online

Hawthorne, N.J. – Registration is open for SuperPile ‘21, a piling design and construction conference being hosted by DFI in partnership with ADSC. The 15th annual conference is taking place June 23-25, 2021, at the Sheraton Philadelphia Downtown, and online.

The theme of the conference is The Spirit of Innovation, showcasing the revolutionary spirit and rich history of Philadelphia, innovative new piling methods and advanced technologies, and the energy and enthusiasm of the DFI community.

“We are excited to be getting back together in-person in Philadelphia,” says Jared Green, P.E., D.GE of Langan and SuperPile ’21 conference chair. “At the same time, technology we have mastered in hosting online conferences is being used to make SuperPile ‘21 accessible to a remote audience worldwide.”

On Wednesday, June 23, related DFI committees are holding committee meetings. 

On Thursday, June 24, plenary sessions start with a panel discussion on “Philadelphia Foundations,” with | Moderator Hannah Iezzoni, P.E., of Keller; Martin McDermott, P.G., of Keller; Sarah McInnes, P.E. and Harold R. Windisch of PennDOT; Jeff Goodwin, P.E., of Foundation Test Group; and John McElroy, P.E., of Langan Engineering and Environmental Services. The discussion is followed by innovative design and construction case histories,” highlighting innovations and geotechnical challenges of working in the city, and a broad variety of local, national and international projects and technical topics.

On Friday, June 25, parallel sessions present detailed coverage of specific technologies, advancements, innovations and challenges in design and construction. The day ends with a panel discussion, “Horses for Courses: Testing of Existing Foundations for Potential Reuse.” Panelists include Moderator Gerald Verbeek, Verbeek Management Services; Marcel Bielefeld, Allnamics; Bernie Hertlein, GEI Consultants; Dennis Sack, P.E., Olson Engineering; and Benjamin Rivers, P.E., Federal Highway Administration.

During the event, the exhibit hall features equipment, material and instrumentation suppliers; contractors; engineers and other vendors.
