Los Angeles Plans a Performance Metrics Website

Modeled on systems set up by Minneapolis, Boston and other cities, Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garsetti will soon unveil a website that is supposed to answer the public’s most commonly asked questions. How many violent crimes have occurred in my neighborhood? How long does it take to get a building permit for a house remodel? Or a pothole filled, or a street light repaired?
The goal is to replicate the Compstat system used by the Los Angeles Police Department to track crime patterns and adapt quickly to new troubles.
