The Highway Engineering and Exchange Program (HEEP) has partnered with TRB AED80(1) BIM for Infrastructure Visualization Subcommittee and buildingSMART USA Chapter to continue its BIM Education Webinar Series.  This BIM for Infrastructure Webinar Series is for the U.S. Transportation Industry promoting Model Based Digital Delivery throughout the project lifecycle. 

The first in the series is titled, “Using Model Based Digital Delivery in Design and Construction” and is scheduled for Tuesday March 16, 2021 from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM CDT.  This is a free event.

About this Event

This transportation industry online workshop is the first in a series that explores opportunities and challenges presented by the shift to Building Information Modeling (BIM) and model-based, digital delivery throughout the United States.

This virtual workshop will provide insights on the practical application of BIM for infrastructure and model-based, digital delivery related to the design and construction of transportation projects. The agenda includes:

  • An introductory plenary session on national BIM perspectives in Transportation,
  • Presentations from state departments of transportation (DOT) representatives on current national and state initiatives, and
  • A panel discussion of the contractor perspective of challenges and opportunities using model-based digital delivery in construction.

State DOT representatives, agency personnel, transportation industry consultants and contractors.

This facilitated workshop will include presentations and panel discussions as well as opportunities for interaction using chat features and interactive polling.
