From geofencing and team member coordinates to live audio and video as well as an SOS button and more, combined tech will help improve safety while driving down insurance costs

San Francisco, CA   — UrsaLeo, an enterprise software company that enables users to visualize operational data in a photorealistic 3D representation of their facility or product, and Connect Up Technologies, a leading maker of wearable devices, have combined forces to offer a complete solution for managing the safety of people, location of objects, to help improve efficiency in industrial environments. The two companies will work on deploying this technology in the manufacturing, energy, and construction industries.

“UrsaLeo is an innovator and a visionary in the digital twin marketplace. Much like the team at Connect Up, they champion the importance of safety culture.” Says Connect Up Technologies CEO Ognjen (Ogi) Grba. “By incorporating UrsaLeo’s digital twin technology with our wearables equipped with embedded AI, we’re able to build our products to their fullest potential, pioneering this new innovative method of preventative safety together.”

“Using wearables for accurate outdoor and indoor position coordinates is a natural extension of our 3D models,” said John Burton, CEO of UrsaLeo. “Combining the two technologies offers a number of new use cases in the industrial marketplace, including new approaches to safety initiatives and the ability to perform time and motion efficiency studies with collected data. Connect Up offers all of this and more, ushering in improvements in safety and efficiency for our customers.”

The combined offering can be used in any outdoor or indoor application where the real-time management and location of people and equipment would be useful. Connect Up Technologies wearables provide accurate x, y, and z coordinates, detect if someone has stumbled or fallen, feature live audio and video, and include an SOS button and additional modules for environmental hazards, such as dangerous gas detection.

UrsaLeo maps all of this data onto photorealistic 3D models of the immediate environment, be it a construction site, oil rig, or manufacturing plant. Generated alerts are displayed in real time on the models with advanced visualizations such as pathfinding, smooth animations, and X- Ray to see inside objects and walls also being supported. Data is recorded allowing playback of events for management, insurance, and regulatory purposes.
