OMAHA, Neb. — HDR’s Pennsylvania/Ohio/West Virginia Aviation Lead Tim Ward has been selected for Airport Business magazine’s annual Top 40 Under 40 recognition. The list showcases the top talent and leading thinkers in the aviation industry who are driving success and innovations for the future. Winners were selected based on their innovation, outstanding attributes, and commitment and involvement in the industry.

Ward’s honor continues HDR’s recognition by the aviation industry as a leading consultant for airport projects. HDR’s aviation experts have been among those selected for the prestigious list four times in the last six years.

“I am extremely honored to be recognized for the 2020 Airport Business Top 40 Under 40 and proud to represent our amazing company and the incredible people I get to collaborate with every day,” Ward said.

Ward has successfully delivered aviation projects throughout the eastern U.S., from airfield paving, hydrant fueling and baggage handling to restroom restoration and roof replacement projects. Having led 13 airfield pavement projects, his expertise makes him a go-to resource in the planning and development stages. For instance, he has been involved in leading the airfield pavement planning and pavement management program at Philadelphia International Airport since 2013.

This past year, Ward also took over as the project manager for the Blue Grass Airport’s LEX Runway Design project in Lexington, Kentucky. He was able to seamlessly integrate with the team and bring solutions to some of the project’s most critical elements, such as project phasing and EMAS design. The overall delivery plan he helped develop met the project’s aggressive schedule and positioned the client for federal funding.

Engaged in the industry overall, Ward is part of the Airport Consultants Council Engineering Technical Committee, serves as the webinar coordinator for the American Society of Civil Engineers Airfield Pavement Committee and is an active member of the Aviation Council of Pennsylvania.

“As the aviation industry finds new ways to safely move into an uncertain future, vision and trust among all stakeholders and partners are key,” said HDR Aviation Director Bill Peduzzi. “Leaders like Tim bring intrinsic relationship-building skills combined with technical acuity to solve problems and make project goals attainable.”

Ward was also recently selected for ENR MidAtlantic’s 20 under 40 Top Young Professionals.
