Autodesk and Pitney Bowes continue to fine-tune the syncing of their software to aid with Infrastructure development initiatives. The partnership brings together infrastructure design tools with GIS in an aim to bring development projects closer to completion, combating a lag that continues to extend project timelines, which means the projects cost more and the economic benefits are slow to be realized.

Some of the ways that Pitney Bowes GIS capability aids Autodesk workflows include:

  • location analytics within Pitney Bowes MapInfo are helpful in the planning phase of a project to do suitability analysis that takes into account land use and resident demographics
  • visualization within Autodesk’s projects allows for the viewing of projects within the context of their location, benefiting from a broader geographic view that is aided by GIS data gathering and integration with the BIM design view.
