DFI Europe Board of Trustees Announces Two New Members

Hawthorne, N.J.:  DFI Europe, a regional chapter of the Deep Foundations Institute (DFI), announces Anne Lemnitzer and Stig Weiss have joined its Board of Trustees as new members.

 

Anne Lemnitzer, Ph.D., P.E., is on the faculty in geotechnical engineering at the University of California, Irvine, and is a visiting scholar at the University of Applied Sciences, Leipzig, Germany (HTWK). Her involvement with DFI includes being co-editor in chief of the DFI Journal and a member of the DFI Board of Trustees, and having chaired the institute’s 2018 Annual Conference in Anaheim, California. Lemnitzer has served as the lead in developing our chapter’s educational workshop for high school and college students to introduce, educate and inspire careers within the geotechnical engineering profession. She will also serve on the organizing committee for the next international DFI-EFFC Conference.

 

Stig Weiss is the divisional manager for Per Aarsleff A/S in Denmark. At Aarsleff, Weiss is responsible for all of the construction company’s ground engineering activities, which involve 1,400 employees in 18 business units in Denmark, Germany, the U.K., Poland, Sweden and Norway. Besides that, he is involved in single projects in other countries. In addition, Weiss is responsible for the internal Design & Engineering Department of Aarsleff, which has 65 employees.
