IECA Region One Elects 2021 Board Members and Approve Reunification

Denver, Colo.  – The International Erosion Control Association Region One (IECA) recently held the annual board of director’s election for terms beginning February 2021 and put a vote out to membership to approve reunification for IECA Region One and Region Two (Australasian Chapter). 

Rafael (Nicky) Araujo, PE; Jonathan Koepke, CPESC, LEED-AP: and Jerry Sanders, CPESC were re-elected to the IECA Region One Board of Directors.

 “We’re excited to welcome these volunteers back to the board,” explained executive director, Samantha Roe, IOM.  “Having the knowledge and skill set of that these returning volunteers possess helps IECA maintain our current momentum going into reunification.”

President’s of both regions worked to develop a comprehensive process to reunify the two regions. The efforts were brought forward by separate Mutually Represented Task Force (MRTF) groups which comprised of members from both regions to establish the groundwork for the process of reunification. The latest step to the process was putting a reunification of the regions out to vote to both memberships which was overwhelmingly approved. Official reunification for the regions will happen in February during the IECA Annual Conference and Expo.

“Leadership of both regions believe reunification will create a truly global organization and provide international opportunities for knowledge sharing, product supply, education and membership growth of IECA,” explained IECA President, Adam Dibble, CPESC, CESSWI. Reunification will provide support for existing, past and potential chapters within the geographic area of Region Two that are currently under-supported and make IECA a more united and cohesive organization. Reunification will provide a greater value to all members.”
