An associate member of the ACI-NA Operations, Planning, Safety, Infrastructure and Development Committee, Geboy will support the firm’s expansion out West.

COLUMBUS, Ohio (Oct. 2, 2020) — Woolpert has hired Strategic Consultant and Project Manager Jill Geboy, an Ohio State University graduate with a decade of experience in facility and asset management. Geboy has worked on the West Coast for most of the past decade, serving numerous aviation, health care and federal clients. She will work out of the firm’s Columbus office.

Geboy has held management roles at several large engineering companies, supporting multiple large- and medium-hub airport clients, including Los Angeles World Airport (LAX), Ontario International Airport (ONT) and San Diego International Airport (SAN). She also has worked with clients that include Stanford Health Care, the California Military Department and the Port of Los Angeles.

In addition to asset management, Geboy’s project experience includes managing architecture and engineering infrastructure and design, technology implementation and operational improvement. She is an associate member of the Airport Council International-North America’s (ACI-NA) Operations, Planning, Safety, Infrastructure and Development Committee. The committee works to provide thought leadership in responding to current and anticipated industry challenges and regulatory and legislative change by sharing lessons learned and best practices, developing white papers and regularly attending specialty conferences.

“The committee is made up of airport and industry leaders who address issues from operations and maintenance to safety, design and construction,” Geboy said. “The perspective I gain from serving on that committee is invaluable, as current industry concerns, issues and ideas are defined and evaluated. I can then pass along the knowledge I gain to my clients, who benefit from the latest, real-world solutions.”

Geboy said COVID-19’s impact on aviation and how airports are working to recover safely, while navigating CARES Act and other relief funding, is of paramount concern. She said she expects passenger counts to go back up to around 50 percent next year, with a steady increase over the next two to three years. Right now, airports are figuring out how best to proceed. “Many airports are continuing with their capital improvement projects, often funded by grants or the FAA, but a lot of smaller projects are being put on hold,” Geboy said.

For Woolpert, Geboy will support aviation and health care clients, with the intent to expand into the western U.S. Geboy said she was drawn to Woolpert by the opportunity to work with former colleagues and because she feels the international architecture, engineering and geospatial (AEG) firm provides a salient niche in the industry.

“Many firms tout that they can provide services that support their main industries, but Woolpert has three primary industries that have grown together over the last 100 years to comprehensively serve its clients—and our strategic consulting team provides support throughout,” she said. “Woolpert also is at that sweet spot, size-wise, where it can provide all the services of a large firm but is small enough to give each client personal attention. I’m excited to be on board.”

Woolpert Vice President and Strategic Consulting Market Director Eric Dillinger echoed that excitement, saying Geboy was an ideal fit for this role and for the firm.

“Jill not only has the business and aviation acumen that we truly appreciate, but she has developed outstanding relationships throughout the aviation industry—specifically out West,” Dillinger said. “Jill is an excellent addition to Woolpert, and I am honored she has joined our team.”
